X-Boat For Sale. Note-price reduced! Now asking $1,000.00
This classic Brane-controlled X-boat #7 rebuilt by John Strebel and in very good condition. Has lovely antique hardware and good sails. It has been sailed a few times this past season and is a good performer. For photos click here.
The Duke City MYC, is selling a W.J. Daniels “Midge” 36R which was given to the club by the estate of a deceased member. This boat was featured in Daniels and Tucker’s 1951 “little book” and looks like it was built not much later.
The hull is carved with a nice lined deck as shown. No cracks or splits are visible. There is a double tapered mast and well-made cloth sails with sewn reinforcements. Somebody who didn’t know what they were doing tried to put it in sailing shape; no real damage, but it needs restoration. The rudder shaft is loose in its tube but an endoscope shot shows the tube looks OK. To aid in restoration the seller includes a slightly better Braine quadrant, Fisher gooseneck, turnbuckles, and jib horse.
The price is $200 plus shipping from Albuquerque (perhaps another $150). The seller’s preferred method of payment would be $400 via PayPal with the seller refunding the overage once actual shipping costs were known. The seller’s main goal is to get this sweet little boat back on the water.

Needs a new owner to join the SFMYC Santa Barbara fleet and make it go fast! Price $600.00. Contact Ryan Schofield at This email address is being protected from spambots.
